Vinyl Siding

Vinyl siding is a very popular, maintenance-free siding material. It is easy to install and comes in a multitude of colors and styles. Almost 90% of siding is made of vinyl because of its qualities.

Vinyl siding is made from polyvinyl chloride, commonly known as PVC. Vinyl siding is impact-resistant, strong and rigid. It comes with fast colors and does not blister or flake. Another advantage of vinyl siding is that it cannot get termite-infested or moistened. There are many types of vinyl siding on the market. The most recent addition is insulated vinyl siding. It is very popular in cold climates. Insulated vinyl siding is fitted with rigid foam, laminated at the backs of its panels, thus increasing its insulation capacity and saving energy costs. No wonder so many homes are now seen with insulated vinyl siding.

Vinyl siding is quite strong and does not collapse in the summer or become brittle in the winter. It also requires low maintenance, since it does not need to be painted. Vinyl siding is offered in a variety of widths, lengths, colors, shapes and textures. After selecting the vinyl siding of your choice, you need to prepare for its installation. You must remove any previous siding and carefully cut and nail the panels. You could also opt for a professional who can fix the vinyl sidings for you. Once installed, vinyl does not need much maintenance except for occasional cleaning. It does not dent or rust like metal siding. Scratches do not affect its look, since colors pervade the thickness in each panel. In case of extensive damage, a panel can be replaced quite easily. Because vinyl siding is manufactured from organic materials, it can melt or burn when exposed to significant heat or fire. Also it is known to crack or split after a few years. Vinyl even releases toxic chemicals when burned.

To buy vinyl siding, contact your nearest building manufacturer or search online. With a cautious and professional approach, you can definitely find good quality vinyl siding.
